Web Voice

Vivox Web Voice™ brings the energy of voice chat and the power of the Vivox Network to web-based games and communities simply and reliably. With minimal resource investment developers can provide high-quality communications.

Benefits of Vivox Web Voice:

  • Draw new players in and keep current players engaged
  • Retain your players in your title and not lose them to fragmented 3rd party applications
  • Create new communication channels with the community through live audio events
  • Grow revenue through audio advertising and the sale of voice-based virtual goods

As a stand-alone solution or interoperable with other platforms - no matter where players are communicating, they have instant communications with all of the robust management and control tools that the integrated Vivox SDK is known for:

Easy Deployment The Vivox Web Voice is specifically designed to be a quick and easy integration for developers. Vivox provides simple widgets to get you up and running quickly. Developers can integrate and deploy within hours with little to no strain on core developers. Instant Connections Players can quickly create a private channel and instantly grab the rest of the group. No one misses any of the action and the group stays seamlessly connected. Persistent Channels Users have the manageability and security of designated channels mapped to game social structures or other specific player groups. Game developers can designate channels to guilds, clans or player groups such as thieves, pilots or new players. Also, guilds have consistent and private channels with management functionality such as access control lists (ACLs) and moderation tools – kick/ban/mute. Large-Scale Groups and Events Fan and community sites enjoy the benefits of large-scale support on the Vivox Network which has supported live events with over 6,000 players in a single channel. Players can participate in hosted events like forum discussions, help lines, live dev blogs, forum discussions and pick-up chats that are simple to access and better the overall player experience. Virtual Goods Vivox Web Voice also offers Virtual Goods and services. Developers can make money and give users some fun features such as voice fonts – where players can morph their voice to match their avatar (i.e. orc, elf, space helmet, etc.), dial-in phone numbers and SMS capabilities make the game even more dynamic. Management Tools Developers can offer players management and security tools such as mute/kick/ban, individual volume controls, access control lists (ACLs) and password protected channels. These tools are also available to community managers to monitor and manage the community. Customizable Experience Vivox Web Voice is fully customizable to match the look and feel of your online property and meet the needs of the community that it serves. Vivox provides style sheets, widgets and personal support to ensure a unique and reliable communications experience. Phased Voice Chat Integration Vivox easily supports an iterative approach to integration with Web Voice. This allows developers to get started quickly, with minimal resource investment, and add functionality over time as the community embraces the technology and resources become available. Phase 1 – Minimal integration. Vivox provides sample html and Java script that can be added directly to the designated game or community website. This allows users to join voice channels that don’t require authentication. Widgets for things like roster lists may be customized with title style sheets in Phase 2 – Account integration. Vivox provides an HTTP/HTTPS API for managing Vivox accounts and we work with developers to integrate either Forum or game accounts with the Vivox service. Once basic account integration is complete, Vivox provides a number of html and javascript samples that expose additional functionality. For example, authenticated players may create channels and invite other players to those channels and effectively use the game website as an alternative to third party voice servers. Phase 3 – Basic game integration. Developers can continue to add features and functionality based on guilds or other game constructs as information and resources become available. For example, a series of channels could be made available to guilds (guild channel, officers channel), with permissions set automatically based on game logic and roles Phase 4 – Full game integration. At a later date when developers want to integrate voice directly into the game client, those controls and channels will interoperate seamlessly with the web based controls and channels. Players can begin a conversation on the web and transition to the game, and vice versa. Vivox works closely with developers to design a custom game integration at the appropriate time.
